4 tips for expanding your basic skincare routine
Updated: Jun 6, 2019
I know many people are always looking for that next product to level up or add to their skincare routine. Here are a few tips to help you figure out what you need.
1. Ask your esthetician, always. They know your skin best, because they’ve seen it in person. If you haven’t yet, then please do go! What you can do is at least get some guidance. Depending on your skin concerns I recommend seeing your esthy at least monthly, and if you don’t have the time or money for that, then bi-monthly-4x per year!
2. Did you see someone online recommended a product? Take a screenshot/photo and text it to your esthetician! She/he can let you know if it’s right and approve or recommend something else.
3. Look at the ingredients. Is it full of comedogenic/harsh/filler/low concentration ingredients? Are there active ingredients in it that will target your concerns?
4. Do some homework (including asking your esthy) on the product. Is it best if used in am/pm, do you need to wait to put on another product after applying because it’s unstable (like many vitamin c forms) and/or so your skin can soak it up? There are so many things that go into skincare. You want to get the most out of each product you use. And as always, please see your esthetician for any concerns you have. They are only there to help, I promise. 💛
